The SLA CEO Night on 07 December 2018 was created for members to get together with government agencies, education institutions and partners in the logistics community. It was a crowd and full house at Enterprise Singapore’s Bugis office. Graced by Mr Satvinder Singh – ESG Assistant Chief Executive Officer, close to 130 representatives and CEOs as well as guests were present. Amongst them were also colleagues from the Logistics Alliance.
Thank you, Mr Singh, for addressing the crowd with your words of exhortation to transform the logistics sector.

In his welcome address, Mr Kay Kong Swan – Chairman highlighted that while there are many emerging disruptive innovations that change the way business operates, the real difficulties are business competitions outside Singapore and the ability to create value for customers.
On transforming businesses, Mr Kay announced that SLA members that are currently enrolled on “hive” – Highly Interconnected and Vibrant eTrade, would receive a 2-year free subscription of CALISTA™. The services offered by CALISTA™ range from online ocean freight booking, to filing regulatory security requirements to the Customs authorities in Canada, Japan and the United States.

Industry-Led Joint Initiatives | |
Mr Tan Puay Hin – Chief Executive presented the joint 3-year industry-led joint initiative for the logistics industry. With the guidance of ESG, the Logistics Alliance partners have rallied firm support for these initiatives covering: - Industry Profiling – to uplift the image of the industry
- Innovation & Technology – to drive awareness and adoption of technology
- Capacity Building – to support logistics companies in their transformation journeys
- Business Transformation – to strengthen collaboration and build communities for different sub-sectors
- Internationalisation – to study best practices, identify business opportunities and connect TACs overseas

Commemorating Council Members 2016/2017 | |

The Guest of Honor, Mr Satvinder Singh presented mementoes to Council Members in appreciation of their unreserved and invaluable contributions during the last 2016/2017 term. Thank you for your camaraderie and devotion to the works of the association. The new term will certainly ride on the commendable efforts of the past. | |

It was both a joyous and fruitful evening. Complementing the warm fellowship and friendly atmosphere was the spread of Nyonya treats with local favorites that include laksa, satay and kueh pie tee, as well as the quintessential celebrative drinks in many forms – chilled, cold or hot.
